The menger sponge is fractal construction based on a cube. on each iteration the cube is divide in 3^3 = 27 Part. only 27 - 7 Cube remain. thars mean that n iteration generate 20^n objects. These pic is a menger sponge a level 4. level 5 should be very long to compute.

This construction on a tetraedra. on each face a new tetreadra is builded. the povray code use a recurent function. this structure let us thing about the Koch construction. These pic is a Koch at level 7.
